Police Officers Rescue Baby Locked in Car in Johor Bahru

While shopping at a supermarket, a woman accidentally left her four-month-old baby locked in a car in the Eco Save parking area of Taman Daya, Johor Bahru on Friday (July 11), as reported by China Press.

Upon being alerted to the incident, two patrol officers from the Taman Setia Indah Police Station, Corporal Muhaizad Md Yusup and Constable Norzahara Sulaiman, rushed to the scene to provide assistance.

With the help of a locksmith, the officers worked to open the door of the black vehicle. Meanwhile, Officer Norzahara provided shade for the baby while awaiting aid from the Department of Fire and Rescue Malaysia.

"Thanks to the quick action and collaboration of all parties involved, the baby was safely rescued with no reported injuries," stated the police in a Facebook post on Friday.

Following the incident, members of the Crime Prevention Patrol of the Taman Setia Indah Police Station issued a warning to the mother, emphasizing the potential danger her negligence posed to her child's life.

The police also urged the public to always be vigilant and responsible for children's safety, emphasizing that even a moment of negligence can lead to significant risks.

Boy tragically dies after being trapped in a school van

Unfortunately, not all incidents end as positively as the one in Johor Bahru.

In April, a boy in Taman Bukit Indah, Johor, met a tragic fate.

He was discovered unconscious near the school van's door, and his father, Teo Jia, believes his son, Yu Zie, tried to exit the vehicle but was unable to. Teo blamed the driver and the kindergarten for negligence.

Teo emphasized that the driver should have ensured all children had exited before locking the van, and the kindergarten should have maintained proper attendance records and alerted families of any missing children.

Iskandar Puteri district police chief Assistant Commissioner M Kumarasan confirmed the arrest of the 56-year-old van driver.
